The barbecue must go on

By the time Husband had part of dinner on the grill, it began to pour rain. Ever the champion, he continued to barbecue our veggie burgers, tin foil-wrapped green beans, and pineapple slices!
You will notice that this picture was taken from the comfort and dryness of INSIDE.
While I was making supper preparations inside, I noticed the caloric difference between the thin hamburger buns I recently bought and the puffy ones that Husband bought. Which ones have less calorie?
Lo and behold, the puffy buns have 10 fewer calories than the thin! SACRILEGE. But that’s marketing for you. I hear the word “thin”, and I’m sold! What a fool.
I still had a thin bun because I actually prefer their texture. Husband had a great idea to try grilling pineapple slices on the barbecue and top the burgers off with a honey barbecue sauce. This was an EXCELLENT idea. Delicious! We also had green beans (saturated in butter) and I added a few HULK strawberries to give this plate some pizzazz. That was directly influenced by having a food blog. I am feeling the benefits already!
When asked about how she felt about pineapple on burgers, Dr. Snuggles replied with this look.
The husband purchased a variety of dessert items for this evening. Last evening, we were dessert-less and I almost had a SMART FOOD SNACK ATTACK (Only laziness prevented me from getting my hands on the white cheddar goodness). He purchased some chocolate ice cream sandwiches and this blueberry tart.
I chose the tart because:
1) It sounded more appealing
2) It had about 70 calories less a serving
3) I could top it off with blueberries
Not a bad way to conclude the day!
Now I am getting ready to watch a television show about the Oasis of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world. Maybe I will also have a cup of tea. I said that last night, but never did. Maybe tonight is the night! (Watching shows about cruise ships, drinking tea…I am kind of geriatric).
Peace out!

That is not a fair comparison! What about fat and fiber? My guess is that the thin one is the winner. However, I still prefer the puffy ones (says the lady who ate two thin buns today).
PS. I love your backyard!

They were pretty close when it came to fibre and protein — the thin bun had about a gram more of each. I think I was just thinking the thin bun would be closer to 100 calories and the puffy bun closer to 200. I was made into a fool! Haha.
I love my backyard too! With all of the trees surrounding our property, I feel like we’re camping in a forest back there.

I never would have thought of it myself, and it was especially tasty combined with barbecue sauce! Low-fat too. Holla!
